The Silver Surfer heater will get up to over 800 degrees. BUT, the air will not get this hot because of the convection heating. How ever, cannabis will combust at about 450, and the SSV will produce hot air over this temperature, so always start out lower and go up in temp if you need more.

It is hard on thin glass, but the thicker it is, the easier it is to tell. Looking sideways into the glass if you see a green tint, it is boro, if is is super clear, it is quartz. Quartz is just a little more clear
