Glass is made from sand and heating it up so it turns to liquid. The sand starts to melt at about 1700 degrees. More minerals or chemicals are added to the glass to make it harder, softer, melt at a lower temperature or many other properties are found by adding more minerals and chemicals.
Making glass is very tough if you do not have the proper equipment and chemicals.
