what is the lowest and highest temperature settings for the ssv Silver Surfer, Super Surfer and Da Buddha DBV?

The lowest temp for the SSV and the Elev8 line of products is low, you could make it less than 200 for vaping flower.  For dabs, it is about 250 for the lowest setting as that uses conduction heat and is more direct.

The highest the heater goes is 900.  This is NOT the heat you will get on your dry herb vaping, but the dab dish can get to about 800, way to hot for dabs.

Running the heater full blast will give you about 500-550 degrees over the dry herb.  You can slightly increase this by inhaling slower, but this will cause your herb to catch fire.

The SSV does not use digital because the draw of your inhale speed has such a huge effect on the temperature that the digital number is just an indicator that we find is great for our customers.  Our customers know what they want, and when they find the sweet spot with their draw speed, our dial will show the time for them.

What causes Devitrification?

Devitrification happens from overworking the glass.  There are basically two types.  One that is not really bad and is from being pulled while the outside is very cool.   This causes stress in the glass and looks like the top image.

The other type of devit as we call it happens when much of the sodium is burned out.  This also can kinda be fixed by adding more sodium to the glass with table salt, or what Elev8 Premier prefers is borax

Why are male joints for dab rigs no longer the go to?

Well, it should NEVER have happened.  From day one, Elev8 Premier and Elev8 Glass Gallery were against this change.  The reason for it is the evolution of the dab.  Long ago it was a hot nail.  The hot nail went into the mail joint, which could have been solved with an adapter.  The oils would leak out of the pipe, rather than inside.

This is why one always wants to stick with the true and tested consumption methods.  The Silver Surfer is designed to be used with any rig with a water pipe attachment.  Dabs for flower the Silver Surfer has your back.

how big can opals be?

Opals can be large, especially since the ones used in boro are made in a lab.  The issue is that an opal is close to 33 COE, but not, so the larger the opal, the more the chance of it cracking.
