When glass artist sign their work. What medium or metal is being used

The most common is a Titanium pen.  Any titanium works, but there is a trick!  The glass must be wet, so the blower usually gives the pipe a tongue kiss, then signs.

Or sometimes as Steve K did, he signs a paper and had that turned into a platinum decal.  That can then be applied to the glass.
