What are the benefits to owning a lathe as a glass artist?

Like a lot of things in life, you are only as good as your tools.  Well, with glass its not that at all, but it is also that.  The issue is you can only go so big by hand.  A lathe makes a glassblower’s life easier, funner and allows them to go bigger.
