- Oxidizing Flame
- This flame is as it suggests. This flame runs extra oxygen. It is a cooler flame than a neutral flame. The flame will sound like it is hissing and blowing out.
- This flame is used as a cool flame to preheat items, or work cadmium colors.
- This flame is used to remove crystalline structures that forms on striking colors such as double amber.
- Reduction Flame
- This flame is heavy in fuel. It is also a cooler flame than a neutral flame.
- This flame is used as a cool flame to preheat items, or work cadmium colors.
- Never ever use this flame with black, blue or even China Green. The reduction flame has a tendency to turn the glass a grayish color that you will not be able to remove.
- Neutral Flame
- This flame is the hottest flame on your torch. It is a perfect mix of oxygen and fuel.
- This flame is used most of the time when you are putting heat into the glass. Be careful with this flame, as it will boil all cadmium colors, and once the clear is hot enough, it will boil that too. Your torch is designed to get really hot with this flame.
