We feel that the wire will not get so hot that it will harm you any more than the smoke you are putting in your lungs. The wire does not get hot enough to melt.

There are many glass artists that sandblast the glass deep. It is rarer than working the glass only in fire as one also has to have software, vinyl cutter, and sand blaster. This put the reach of sandblasting out of some blowers.
