Does sandblasting quartz effect the heat retention, and if so is it significant?

We feel that this as little to 0 impacts on heat retention.  Heat retention is based on the mass of objects.  So in theory yes, some of the glass is removed from sandblasting, but it is such a small amount, we think it is negligible.
