Dab straws can be both borosilicate or quartz. Quartz allows the user to heat the glass red hot and have no thermal breakage. Boro can not be heater past 1050 or it un aneals it making it brittle over time.
To keep your boro dab straw in tip-top shape do not heat it red hot. Only heat it so it is just hot enough that when you place it to your oils it vapes.
