Shipping Job Duties

Main Shipping Duties Sheet When Hired

Duties and Side Work that must be completed

Shipping is our last handshake to the customer.  Your duties are some of the most important to Elev8 Distribution.  Ensure the customer experience is awesome

Place order for any new glass that needs made for order through Trello as soon as it is received.

Day to Day procedures

  1. Open the Shipping Area
    1. If you have a problem request help here
    2. Passwords
      1. If you do not know the password, it can be found on the desktop in a notepad document labeled passwords
  2. Processing Orders
    1. Print Orders- Customer service will do this
    2. Stamp Orders
    3. Pick orders
    4. Process NEEDS ATTENTION orders
      1. Order Glass from Studio
        Order items needed to fulfill orders needing attention.  This is very important and needs to be done early in the day. Message ALL customers through Bigcommerce with this statement. ” Thank you for your order, we will be making your ( insert item here) fresh. Please allow 3-5 days for it to ship from this point. Thank you for your patience, we are excited to get this into your hands. “
    5. Check Orders- Ask Steve or Adam to do this
  3. Pack orders
    Shipping Standards & Duties

      1. All retail and wholesale orders are to be packaged on camera.
      2. Making boxes
      3. Packing And Box Standards
      4. Wrapping Standards

      6. Finishing The Completed Box
      7. All normal retail orders will include an Elev8 sticker and 4 flyers unless otherwise specified. Any orders that say Ebay or are a Drop Ship order( i.e. billing info is a company like vapor brothers but shipping info is a customer address) should not have any of the flyers and DO NOT INCLUDE THE INVOICE WITH PRICES FOR THESE ORDERS. PRINT THE PACKING SLIP ONLY.

  5. Carrier drop off
    In the event we miss the carrier pick up we must drop off at the end of the day.
    USPS: Find location closest to your route. If open you will deliver in bag and have postal worker scan the manifest. If closed you will manually scan each package into the kiosk. Once scanned place in outgoing mail receptacle. If it does not fit, DO NOT leave the package, bring back with you.
    UPS: Find the location that is OPEN nearest your route. Have clerk scan and get receipt.

Wholesale Orders

      1. If you are shipping a drop ship order or a wholesale order you are to send the shipping cost to the sales rep in charge of the account.

Any duty assignment as assigned by management in the following function:

    1. Any requested general maintenance
    2. Responsible for keeping the shipping area clean
    3. Ordering Boxes from Colorado Industrial Packaging
    4. Responsible for keeping the shipping area stocked (see General restock numbers)
    5. Help production with any ta on their whiteboard if you are caught up and they are not.
    6. Responsible for breaking down cardboard
    7. Responsible for taking out all trash on warehouse side and cleaning the bathroom on warehouse side weekly (on Fridays), Note: the exception is Steve’s desk trash bin and the production area gray bin. Steve will take care of those.
    8. Responsible for reading all orders
    9. Responsible for picking all orders
    10. Responsible for properly packaging all items
    11. Responsible for making sure all boxes are packed to the standards set forth
    12. Responsible for confirming that packages are going to the correct address
    13. Inform Production Manager when glass is at it’s reordering point or, out of stock.
    14. Make sure documents are proper for international shipments
    15. Prep pallets for large shipments
    16. Receiving shipments from vendors
    17. Make sure tools are in their home
    18. Regularly check with the Shipping Trello
    19. Make sure all packages that come in go to the appropriate recipient
    20. Place order for new glass through Trello as soon as it is received
    21. Daily Duties are all that may or may not be also on Trello and Shipping Duties
