  • WARNING Please do not perform any of these checks until you are sure your vaporizer is completely cool. We suggest you have it turned off for at least 30 minutes prior to continuing. Not getting hot Is the heater getting red or any heat at all? Yes, it glows but it is not getting hot enough

    1. Check the position of the heating element. It should be 1/8-1/4 inch from the top of the heater cover, but NOT touching the heater cover.  To adjust the height of the heating element, first, take off the heater cover. You can do this by gently twisting back and forth while gently pulling up on the heater cover. After safely removing the heater cover, gently pull up on the heating element, and be careful not to pull the heating element out of the unit. Replace the heater cover back on the heater stand. This can be achieved by twisting back and forth and pushing downward. Once the heater cover is firmly back on the heater stand, check the position of the heating element. If you feel the heating element is too high, take your pick and gently push it down.  Now turn your vaporizer on to the 12 o’clock position and let heat up for a minute or two. Try vaping your herb. If this fixed your problem, awesome! If not please keep reading.
    2. If the heater is tall in the heater cover, suggest turning the heat up more and using a longer draw speed.  Adjusting the heat should be more than enough.
      1. The heater either works or it does not.  There is no degradation over time.

    No, my heater has no heat Does the dimmer light turn on? On the back of the unit, there is a neon light that adjusts with the power of the heater.  Is this light dimming?  If it is dimming the dimmer is good. Yes If the dimmer light adjusts and the heater does not come on, the heater is bad. No The Dimmer is bad My heater cover cracked

    1. Was the heater touching the heater cover?
      1. The heater can not touch the heater cover or the glass will break
    2. The heater cover broke at the base
      1. Do you have shims?
        1. If you have shims, you had too thick of a spacer in
      2. If you do not have shims, does the heater stand look too big?
      3. You should get a picture sent in, and replace the heater cover free with shipping

SideKick Troubleshooting

The Sidekick is turning off and not heating up when you press the power on to heat up.  This is a battery issue.  We can not test it, and it could be both.  We only see this in the V1  Here is a video of what to look for.

Wax Maxer Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting the Wax Maxer V2 Pro Dab Pen:
    • The heater seems to go out or burn out very fast.
      • Your Wax Maxer heater will last a very long time if you keep it from over heating.  This will happen when it runs dry.  The concentrates in the pen actually also help to keep the heater cool.  Make sure that your heater is ALWAYS in contact with oils, and preferably under oil.
    • Red light blinks 3 times when pressed:
      • Explanation: Heater has a short.
      • Fix:
        • Remove the heater and press the button again. If the battery blinks Red again 3 times (with no heater installed), the battery has a short and needs to be replaced.
        • If the battery lights up normally with no atomizer, make sure to clean the heater thoroughly, and install it again. If the battery blinks Red again 3 timesthe heater has a short and needs to be replaced.
    • Red light blinks 10 times when pressed:
      • Explanation: Battery capacity is too low.
      • FixCharge battery.

    Charge: 

    1. Make sure your battery is completely Locked.
    2. Plug your micro USB into the side of your Wax Maxer Pro battery.
    3. Plug your cable into a wall charger.
    4. Your battery will light up and while charging.
    5. Your battery light will turn off once fully charged (4-5 hours).

    SAFETY INFORMATION:

    • Do not leave the charger in extreme temperatures (Very Hot or Very Cold)
    • Do not charge near moist environments.
    • Do not leave the battery hanging by its cable. Make sure it is in a stable position.
    • Do not leave charging for extended periods of time.
    • Charge only on non flammable surfaces or in a metal box
    • Charge in a well-ventilated area. 
    • When charging, allow the battery to charge completely prior to using

Elev8R PIDs Troubleshooting

  • Use this guide to troubleshoot any issues with your Elev8R Enail kit or Classic Mini Enail kit, most issues can be resolved at home without any intervention from Elev8. Our Enail kits come with a Limited 90 Day Warranty which can be extended to a Limited 1 Year Warranty if the unit is registered within 90 days of receipt. If your unit is covered under warranty, we will replace any defective parts within that 1 year warranty period. If your unit is outside of the warranty period we can get you a 15% discount on any replacement parts which may be needed if you give us a call at 719-570-9928 or email us at customercare@elev8distribution.comNote: Elev8’s Classic Mini Enail and Elev8R Enail kits use identical PID controllers, but the Kevlar Heat Coils are slightly different and are treated as separate products even though they are also identical in function. This guide applies to both the Classic Mini Enail kit and to the Elev8R Enail kits.  

Enail isn’t heating up enough: Enail PID won’t turn on: Enail is displaying “EEEE” on the screen when I turn it on: Enail is heating up too quickly and triggers an “EEEE” error message on the  PID screen: Enail is tripping a GFCI outlet or circuit breaker (ground fault circuit interrupter): Enail will not hold a consistent temperature: If your issue isn’t mentioned below, let us know by going to Elev8Glass.com and clicking the “ASK A QUESTION” button to submit your issue!

Enail isn’t heating up enough:

This is most commonly an issue with the Kevlar Heat Coil. If you have another Elev8 PID unit you can test this issue at home by plugging your Kevlar Heat Coil into the second unit: if the coil will not heat up to the temperature that you set on both units then the issue is definitely with the Kevlar Heat Coil itself. If the coil works fine on the second unit then the issue is definitely with the original PID unit. You could also test this using another Kevlar Heat Coil, as you may have separate coils for an Elev8R Enail and a Classic Mini Enail. Enail PID won’t turn on:

Double check the connection with the power supply cable in the back of the PID unit. Unplug the power cable from the back of the PID unit and then plug it back in; make sure that it is fully and firmly secured in the power jack. If the PID unit still won’t turn on, try a different outlet in a different part of the house or building. This isn’t likely to be the cause of the issue but it’s helpful to check and be sure. If the PID unit does not turn on after checking the power supply cable and outlet, there may be a fault in your PID unit and/or the power supply cable itself. Enail is displaying “EEEE” on the screen when I turn it on:

This is an error message which could indicate an issue with the PID or with the Kevlar Heat Coil. If the error message is being displayed as soon as you turn the PID on, check the connection with the Kevlar Heat Coil. Most of the time this error message appears when there is no coil attached. Make sure that the coil is fully plugged in, the plug should click into position and the plug should be fully secured by the retaining clip (the silver ‘PUSH’ button). You should have to PUSH the retaining clip in order to remove the plug from the jack. If you own multiple Enail units from other manufacturers, double-check and make sure that you are using the correct coil for the Enail PID by Elev8. Enail coils often use the same type of plug but they are not universal, and coils made by other manufacturers may be wired completely differently from ours. Only use the original Kevlar Heat Coil which came with your Enail kit by Elev8.

If the error message is being displayed after the PID has already begun to heat the coil, see the next section of this guide (‘Enail is heating up too quickly…’). If you are still seeing the error message after double-checking the connection with the Kevlar Heat Coil, then there could be a fault with the coil or with the PID itself. Enail is heating up too quickly and triggers an “EEEE” error message on the  PID screen:

When you turn on your Enail PID you should see the temperatures rise at a slow and steady pace. It should take about 45 seconds or more for the PID and coil to reach the desired temperature from a cold start. If the temperature rises much more quickly than expected this means that there is likely a fault in the Kevlar Heat Coil, typically when this happens you will see the temperatures rise very quickly until the PID registers the error, at which point it will display “EEEE” on the screen. This type of fault can also trip GFCI outlets (see below).

Enail is tripping a GFCI outlet or circuit breaker (ground fault circuit interrupter):

If your Enail is tripping a GFCI outlet or circuit breaker then there is likely a fault in the Kevlar Heat Coil. If the unit is plugged into a non-GFCI outlet or circuit then you will likely experience the same issue described in the above section (‘Enail is heating up too quickly…’) When functioning properly the Elev8 Enail will not trip a GFCI outlet or circuit breaker, and it will take about 45 seconds or more for the PID to reach full temperature. Enail will not hold a consistent temperature:

If you set the temperature for your Enail and it will not hold the specified temperature, Auto Tuning Mode may have been activated, if the green light above the OUT (AT) is flashing it is.  To complete that process, setup the unit as if you were going to use it, once all parts are assembled, use the Up and Down arrows to set the temperature to 400 degrees.  The coil will heat up to the 400 degrees and then slowly drop down again, and then rise about 400 degrees, it will continue this process for up to 10 minutes while it is attempting to calibrate the coil for the setup. Once the temperature has settled and is holding around 400 degrees, you should be able to use the Up an Down arrows on the face of the controller to set the desired temperature, and it will settle at that temperature, you do not need to press any other buttons on the controller face to set the temperature besides the Up and Down arrows.
