Do I need to upgrade the heater stand on my OG DBV before installing the ball mod?

It is recommended to upgrade.  If you do not want to, you should also get a shim kit as your original shim may be too large or too small.  There is a small ID tolerance on all glass tubing and why the new design is much better to accommodate this
