Can we add some sort of band to the super soaker to prevent it from leaking at the seem? Would a flavor savor be usable as one?

While this does happen, it can happen more if you squeeze the Super Soaker.  Try not to squeeze it, but also press down on the lid.  The flavor savor is too small in diameter.
