What is tamping a bowl?

Tamping a bowl is when a smoker presses the herb further into the bowl with the corner of their lighter.  This can make a more thicker smoke hit.  It also can move some of the unburned green from the edge of the bowl to the center of the bowl for a more green hit after the bowl is almost cashed or ended

For ultimate flavor and a much higher bioavailability, one should always look into vaporizing their flower.

How is crushed opal tubing made

Only Gilsson created opals are able to be used in glass.  Any other opal will burn out or just fail.

There are many ways a blower will make tubing.

Crushed opal tubing with frit

  1. Heats up a slug of glass
  2. Drop in the crushed opal and let it stick to the glass.
  3. Drop-in some frit to have the opal end up layering in between the glass slug and the frit.
  4. Melt it down and you have some crushed opal tubing

Crushed opal sleeve

  1. The blower prepares an open-ended slug, usually 45mm or 50mm and leaves it in the kiln till later
  2. The blower makes a colored tube.
  3. The blower lays down some crushed opal in a frit tray and rolls the hot colored tubing in it, having the crushed opal stick to the colored tubing.
  4. The blowers insert this colored tube with opals into the pre-opened slug
  5. The blower then sleeves the colored/opal tube with the open slug
  6. When done the blower has a tube of colored/opal tubing with clear glass on the outside.

What is the advantage of having a bell bottom on your banger?

The “bell bottom” or tapered out bottom allows for more surface area to heat up and rise throughout the banger, basically letting it retain heat longer. This also allows your pearls to have more room to spin, and typically they can spin better in the pocket of the bell shape.

Just load it on a screen, just be careful as it can go through the screen.  We like to put it on a slightly clogged screen.

The best way is to just add it to some flower.  It’s where it came from.

You can also load it on top of a flavor disc

Why is there not colored quartz glass?

Quartz glass is 100% silica, whereas borosilicate is mostly silica based. Since silica has no color, 100% quartz glass will have no color. Borosilicate glass has a little room left for other trace elements and minerals though, which is what makes the color.

What is the difference between indica and sativa?

difference between cultivars high in THC with low CBD (C. sativa), those with high THC and CBD (C. indica), and those with a high CBD to THC ratio (C. ruderalis).

Sativa vs. Indica Effects

The “indica vs. sativa” framework has drawn controversy, and for good reason. As you research cultivars online, you may keep coming up against the same phrases to describe sativas (“cerebral,” “heady,”, “uplifting”, “energizing”) and indicas (“relaxing,” “sedating,” “full-bodied,” “couchlock,” “stoney”). It’s still perfectly valid to describe effects as “sativa-like” or “indica-like”, as long as we remember that sativa or indica-like effects don’t necessarily coincide with a plant’s sativa or indica lineage.

This is where hybrids come in. You’ve probably noticed how hybrid cultivars have become as prominent as indicas and sativas, if not more so. It’s a sign that cannabis marketing is catching up to reality. All modern cultivars are technically hybrids, but the plants we officially classify as hybrids are the intentional crossbreeds of indicas and sativas, designed to produce specific qualities and effects. Often, budtenders recommend hybrids for their highly specialized effects, flavors, and aromas.

Hybrids certainly present a more nuanced taxonomic reality, but they do not provide a label that adequately indicates the effects that a user can expect from a cultivar  —- especially as we recognize how differently from one another our bodies react to cannabis. Ever settle in to relax with some indica, only to find yourself in a high-energy cerebral haze? Or, have you tried sativa-dominant strains you heard were great for productivity and ended up in a prolonged, full-body couchlock? The truth is, you can’t always rely on your body to receive indica or sativa-like effects from an indica or sativa flower. You and your friend might smoke the exact same bud and have two equally distinct experiences.

How do you keep a dabs straw clean?

The best way to keep your dab straw clean is not to get it too hot.  This causes the oils to burn.

But it will get dirty.  We recommend soaking in alcohol each night and letting it dry out the next day.  This helps maintain it well.

Another thing is if it is quartz you can heat it up to burn all the oils out.  Be careful of this as there are oils inside and the can fall out and burn you.  BE CAREFUL.
