What is a Puffco Peak E Rig?

The Puffco Peak was the first big time dab rig.  The first company to make a portable electric dab rig was the people at Greenlight vapes.  But they are a company from China so it never hit the market like a Puffco did.

Later the Puffco was in a since knocked off by Carta, while it has some improvements to the puffco, it is not much better.

We now offer the G9 Epro that we really love.  It has more temperature settings than a puffco or carta and has more battery power.  The Epro is also WAY more glassblower friendly, so we love this as well.

The Epro also comes with a recycler that we feel works great!

Is there a limit to how many ash catchers I should use?

In reality, you only need one.  You can for sure add more and it is like having another chamber to filter more and cool more, BUUUUT, the more weight you add, the more risk you take by adding stress to the glass.  This can cause a joint to break off, so we recommend only one ash catcher per water pipe.  If you want more percolation to think about a larger water pipe.

If you really want to have a clean water pipe and REALLY taste the herb as you have never tasted it, you should think about a vaporizer like the Silver Surfer.  There is 80%-90% fewer tars as well as when you eliminate combustion you nearly double the active ingredients as combustion destroys up to 60% of the compounds.  Another thing to note is that vaping is up to 80% bioavailability while smoking is only 30%.

Why does the coil or heater keep breaking on my wax maxer?

This usually happens if you overheat the ceramic heater.  This happens if there are no more oils left in the chamber.  The oils actually help cool the heater down to help give it a long life.

Another reason the heater stops is that during cleaning the user uses a pick or something and lifts the heater up and breaks the heater wire.

Another idea that it may stop is if you have let oils drip out over the edge and into the heater threads.  While this does not stop it now, it can stop it if you remove the heater and put it back in as the oils will cover the contacts.

Try not to run your heater past 15 watts.

Open your heater with no oils in and watch it turn red, once it starts to turn red you will want to stop pressing the button or you will overheat the heater. But this is a good way to learn how the heater reacts to how much power you give the heater.  Just be careful not let the heater get bright red or orange as it will crack the ceramic and that will break the heater.

Is it true that distilled water is better to put in waterpipes?

Tap water contains minerals and other substances that could potentially leave hard water stains in your glass. Distilled water is pure H2O, so there are no minerals left over to accumulate on the walls of your pipe.

The hard water stains can be removed with the proper cleaners and tools, but it is always easier to clean something that isn’t there in the first place.

What does the opaque bottom on certain bangers do?

The idea behind the opaque bottom bangers is that the micro air bubbles in the bottom will create more surface area to heat up, thus keeping your banger heated for longer.  This is what the internet says, but we find it to be bullshit.

Heat is held by mass with the small air bubbles the mass is actually reduced by 20-40%.  We feel these are a gimmick and we recommend the thickest banger you can if you want heat retention.

You can learn more here about bangers in our blog.

Is there an advantage to using a glass dabber over a metal one?

We LOVE glass so we like glass dabbers better.

BUT, this is really up to what the end-user wants.  The good thing about a metal dabber is that it will not break.  We really love our character picks with the flat tip.  They are a mix of glass and metal.

Many connoisseurs prefer glass for pretty much everything.

Is there a limit to how big a pipe can be blown?

The limit dictated by how much weight the blower can hold.

If a blower has a lathe the pipe can be made much larger.  The next thing that holds a pipe back from being large is the size of the kiln.  The pipe has to fit inside the kiln or it can not be annealed.
