Is there a specific method for getting colors to pop out more from the kiln? Or is it only based on the amount of time inside of the kiln?

Colors that strike like reds can for sure pop more when the kiln is ran at a slightly different setting, usually a longer soak time at a bit of a higher temperature.  This helps the crystals grow in the glass from the minerals used to color the glass.
