I’ve heard deer antlers are not safe to smoke out of because of something that gets released when heated over and over again, not sure if antler is much different than bone though. Also, bone is porous, allowing micro organisms to grow. Use glass!!
If you did the punty properly you will put a little heat on the connection, then remove the heat really fast with a marver or some metal. Then the punty pops right off easy peasy, but you must have done a proper connection.
