Quartz has amazing thermal properties, but because the carb cap does not get super hot, and cool down a lot, there is no need for a carb cap to withstand massive temperature swings.
In reality, there is NO need to know. The end-user is a connoisseur, so they know what they want. For the SSV and any whip vape, the temperature is so greatly affected by the speed of the inhale so to show a temperature is in reality not true.
The SSV is designed for someone who likes big hits, to someone who likes really smooth light hits.
One thing you do not want to do is let your herb turn black or dark brown from the first hit. This means turn it down a little or inhale faster
These are very time-consuming to make, hence why they cost so much. To make them the artist does a lot of cutting, grinding, and polishing to get them done. Large items like the work of art by Jack Storms in Elev8 can take up to 6 months to create.

SideKick has a stir tool built in while the Pax does not
The SideKick has a 16 inch air path for a very cool hit, while the Pax does not
The SideKick has fine crafted American made glass to put to your lips, while the Pax does not
The SideKick has a very nice padded case, the Pax does not
The SideKick has removable and rechargeable batteries, and the Pax does not

Elev8 is the leader in vaporizer design, so the answer is yes! Currently we are working on the SideKick version 3. This will have a bowl 2.3x larger than it currently has. It will have 2 heaters, it will have 1 removable 18650 battery as well. It will be slightly larger than the V2, but only about 5mm wider!
The will feature 2 stir tools that spin in the reverse direction to eliminate clumping.
It is still used, but it is not as popular as welding a joint takes more skill and seems to be more appealing. Both the slide and Ground Glass work great.
The slide is more affordable as it is worked less.
