History of Elev8 Distribution and the vaporizer company
Vaporizing dry herbs started becoming popular in the early 2000’s. 7th Floor was born in 2004 by a younger fella named Steve Kelnhofer. He had an idea about how to make vaporizers even better than they were. Steve gathered some materials that he knew were the best around and got to work. Out came the very first Silver Surfer Vaporizer with the help of his mom holding the housing while he fabricated them. In the beginning, most of the Surfers Steve built right out of his garage. He also had to teach himself glass as at the time, there just were not a lot of local glass blowers. Sometimes he was even meeting people in the Home Depot parking lot to do the transactions. From the garage, we evolved into small 1500 industrial space that became a world-renowned Head Shop now called Elev8 presents HEMP (Higher Elevation Masterpiece Productions). We outgrew that space and had to upgrade to a 5,000 sq ft. facility where all the vaporizers were assembled leaving behind the glass studio at hemp to also further expand that area. Eventually, in 2013 we moved to our new home and our glass studio moved out of HEMP and went into the old production warehouse. We now have one of the nicest art glass facilities in the USA with 10 bench stations and 3 lathes. With some expansion and life changing Elev8 Glass was formed to give the glass crew an identity and the Elev8 ideas were starting to solidify. As the name Elev8 evolved years later Elev8 became Elev8 Premier as arguably one of the best glass studios in the country, making some of the most functional, and artisan pieces on the scene. The Vaporizer side of our business is called 7th Floor, named randomly after a “Friends” episode. 7th Floor has grown to include 8-different vaporizers in their catalog. As we realized it’s more than great product we want to educate people on but also the alternative lifestyle. Today we have evolved into “Elev8 at home,” a caring company, willing to take the time to advise consumers and provide them with the knowledge they need to make better cannabis decisions. We thank Steve for his vision of the future, and where our industry needed to evolve to.

Objections |
Responses |
“Another gimmick product” | (Perceived)This is not a gimmick product. The product uses the exact balance needed for affordability, and function. |
“You guys make vapes, what do you know about trimmers?” | (Perceived) We have actually been trimming longer than we have been making vapes. Over 20 years of thought have been put into this. |
“There is no market for that kind of product!” | (perceived) The Market we are trying to hit can be deceiving. We are targeting the homegrower with 6-12-plants. Not the guy trying to trim fields of product. |
“Since the blades are steel, they will rust!” | (Valid) Everything made from steel has the ability to rust over time. It is how you maintain the product, which will add to its longevity |
“How do I know this product won’t stop working after a week or a month?” | (Perceived quality) We stand behind our product with a one year warranty. Should there be an issue due to manufacturer defect? We will fix the unit. Customer will only need to cover shipping. |
“My average sale is only $30, my customers couldn’t afford them.” | (Perceived) Your customers can afford them! The unit pays for itself in just two harvests. Your hands will thank you later. This is the most affordable option on the market. |
“They seem dangerous if an inexperienced trimmer was using them.” | (Perceived) All scissors can be considered dangerous. All pairs of scissors will cut your finger should you get it in the way. The unit uses a stepper motor that has only enough torque to cut through a certain hardness. . This is a safety feature that makes it so you will not cut your finger off if you get it deep in there. |
“None of my customers are asking for a product like that, so once traction pics up, let me know. Or I’ll let you know when people are asking for it.” | Once the customer asks for it… And you don’t have it? Say goodbye to that sale. The product needs to be on the shelf for customers to be able to purchase it. |
“I maybe sell one electronic trimmer a year, so that would have to be a special order product” | With the changing of the industry, people are doing their best to figure out how to cut their costs. Most other electric trimmers are 2-4 x the cost of these. |
“Mechanics can break down after time and I would have to buy another pair of expensive scissors.” | (Perceived) All things break down over time. It’s the amount of variables in the equation that matters. There are very few ways that the unit can break down. They are designed to be very efficient, and long lasting with the proper care. If anything breaks down parts can be replaced with minimal mechanical skill |
“I only sell to major farmers, and they spend the bare minimums on trimmers and trimming products.” | I understand why you would think this. These were designed by a home grower, for a homegrower. Meaning small batches where the grower cares immensely about the trichomes falling off in the trimming process. |
“Less precision than regular scissors or trimmers.” | (Perceived) Think about how precise you were when you first used a pair of scissors? In time you will also master these as we have done. Wth the nip mode you can be just as precise as with standard scissors. |
“Because it has a cord, you are restricted to stay plugged in.” | (Perceived) Cords are unavoidable. Battery packs prove to be heavy, and unreliable. Corded units provide the security of using something you know will work when its plugged in. No need for charging or checking battery life. |
“The price is too high, I sell fiskers for $15.” | I can understand that perception. Most trimming machines cost a LOT of money. Comparatively these hand held trimmers are WAY more affordable than the competition. And they should pay for themselves in one or two harvests. The repetitive action of trimming your hand is not good, the Pro Trim Elite scissors are made to eliminate this repetitive action. |
SideKick Portable Vaporizer
Objections | Responses |
“Seems like a lot to handle. Lots of parts and pieces I am used to my joints.” | I can see why you’d say that. At first glance the unit can be intimidating. I do have to say once you start to use it it becomes very handy, and easy to use. |
“It is too expensive! There are others that are cheaper” | When compared to other units on the market. Our unit stands out from the rest. We would never want to be considered “Cheaper”” |
“What kind of warranty comes with this?” | One year warranty. After that its $35 to fix. Or the customer can choose a base unit for $45 plus shipping |
“I want to be able to use it while it is plugged in.” | Most units do not allow for this as it is a safety feature. Soon to come are units that will be safer to use while charging. Desktop vaporizers are very popular! |
“I hear the battery door is flimsy” | Just like any battery door, when not put in correctly, the parts can break if forced. |
“The unit takes too long to heat up” | Any much faster of a heat up time can potentially cause the ceramic to break over time and the batteries to last way less time |
“No temperature display” | No need for one, like our desktop vapes, all you need to do is pick your sweet spot and enjoy at that setting |
“The charger says it is only US 110v” | The charger is compatible with a car outlet, and can be used with just an adapter and the wall outlet (110v-220v) |
“The bowl is not very big” | It is really a personal use vaporizer, but we give multiple pairs of batteries so you can keep loading the bowl as long as you have batteries |
“It looks hard to clean” | It is actually very easy to clean with removable inserts, plus the whole vaporizer can be submerged into a bath of alcohol with the batteries removed |
“It doesn’t create big clouds” | The unit is set at the perfect temperatures to produce the cleanest vapor. Some of the clouds come from carcinogens and other material from combustion |
“Our budget is tight right now and it is hard to bring on new products” | It would be tough to not bring this product on, with the profit margins that we are offering, you are missing out every day you are not carrying the SideKick |
“I don’t really have room for another portable vaporizer and they are all moving well” | If they are selling so well, you should add more space for vaporizers and cash in on your best selling product. People like variety. |
“About half of the reviews are good half are bad” | When we first launched the SideKick, we didn’t educate the reviewers as much as we should have and about half the reviews people liked it and the other half, peopl just didn’t know how to use the unit. We find with education, people fall in love with the SideKick |
“The unit is too heavy” | Comparitivly, it is not.. Have you held a Mighty before? |
“Not as popular as PAX” | Youi’re right, people have preferences, and thats why we do so well.. Some folks get turned off to what everyone else has.a lot of folks like to be different. And we welcome that. |

Objections | Responses |
“I have a few people asking for it, but not enough to justify the pricing your talking about.” | If folks are asking for it? Thats a great sign that we could potentially sell well in your location. |
“If I buy 50 of them, can I get a deal?” | NO!! We as a company do not advertise deals on the Da Buddha. That being said, we will negotiate with large purchases. |
“I really do not want to carry all of the replacement parts.”
“Desktop vaporizers are for old people.” | This is a perception. Vaporizers in general can be helpful for any user. |
“The Da Buddha? That thing is ancient in the world of dry herb vapes. | Wheels are ancient, we still use those. Our point is that we believe our vaporizer to be the very best. |
“The price is too high for what my customers are getting.” | False!! The price is right where it needs to be. The DBV was invented to go after a market where the user wnats to spend $200 at most on a vaporizer. |
“Your company offers so many custimazation options for your other vaporizers, why not the Da Buddha? | With the DBV hitting just the right price point, we needed to keep it right where it is on the product path. Raising the price point isnt useful. |
“Vaporizer sales are down”
“With all the new innovations on the market, its hard to invest in a product as old as yours.”
“Mark-up isnt enough, I cant make money selling this unit.”
“What is your company doing to market the Da Buddha?”
“I have never herd of the Da Buddha Vaporizer. “ | There are thousands of reviews online for this particular vape. It would take a while to find a review that is negitive. |
“Most of my customers do concentrates only.” | PERFECT! We sell a EOK, which allows you to use dry herbs and concentrates. |
“I used to get better pricing from vapornation”
“You’ve sold me on the SSV. Why should I also carry the Da Buddha?” | Price, a lot of customers are price sensitive. This is the best entry level vaporizer on the market. |
Elev8R Glass Vaporizer
Objections | Responses |
“Since its glass, it looks fragile” | Like most of your products it is glass, but your customers will like that aspect because of the flavor provided |
“I only use concentrates through a water rig.” | Great! The ELEV8R comes with everything you’ll need to use with most water rigs. If you dont have a water filter? The user can still use the ELEV8R with the wand that comes with it. |
“My customers haven’t asked for anything like that” | No one knew they needed a cell phone before a cell phone came out. This is a brand new product that has not been introduced yet. |
“It is not made out of quartz, so I think the temperature change will affect the longevity.” | We are actually addressing this situation and about to have quartz heaters as an option. |
“I don’t know if I can explain this to my customers, such a new concept” | It is a new concept, but the unit is so simple, anyone who can use a torch, can use an Elev8R for dry herbs or concentrates. |
Not very discreet, looks like your doing “drugs” | This is a perception that we are not going to be able to change. Once the education of your customers becomes a priority for you, they, and you will see the benefits of a all glass convection vaporizer. |
“The heater doesn’t provide the same hit as a banger.” | that is true, because it is 100% convection heating, it is truly vaporizing at a low temperature, only taking the good parts of the product and leaving behind carrier oils. |
“I have never herd of this vape, How are you going about marketing it to consumers?” | Using the ELEV8R is a grassroots movement. We mainly build clientile by word-of-mouth. We do have lots of instructional videos online. |
“My shop specializes in e-juice” | Maybe this unit isnt for you. I would bet that a lot of your cusotmers would benefit from using this kind of product. What a unique chance to position your self in the market. |
“When someone comes in asking for it i will give you a call.” | I appreciate that, but I need to tell you that if you arent prepared for that customer you would be missing out on a sale. We havent had negitive feedback on this unit yet. |
“Does it work with an enail?” | It does. We have always welcomed customers customizing their vape experience to their liking. If customers want to find a enail to work along with the ELEV8R? GREAT! |
“I am interested in buying whats HOT right now. Blunt wraps, bangers, and straws.”
“seems complicated. What do I do with it when its hot?”

What is a Vaporizer?
There are 2 primary heating methods a vaporizer may use.
- Convection works by flowing heated air over and through aromatic blends. Most modern vaporizers primarily use convection because it heats aromatic blends more evenly and efficiently and temperature control is easier.
- Conduction works by direct contact of aromatic blends with a heated surface. The earliest commercial vaporizers used conduction. Although it fell out of favor when convection vaporizers appeared, some successful modern designs have revived conduction.
There are two categories we divide Vaporizers into. The first is what we refer to as Table-Top devices. This category includes all devices that require you to plug in to an electric source. We also call them home units, made to be used at home. These units are built for longevity and heavy use. Table-Top devices can have 1 of 2 delivery methods, this means how do I get the vapor from the device to my lungs. The first is whip style. This simply means a tube/hose is used, one end attaches to the vaporizer and you would gently draw vapor through the hose. Much like a hookah. The second, uses what are called vapor bag balloons. The device will fill the balloons with vapor,a valve on the balloon allows you to draw only what you need while saving the vapor in the balloon. This is better for people with weaker lungs.
The second is portable devices. These devices have rechargeable batteries to power them and are small and discreet, giving the user the freedom to take the device out in the yard or to different rooms of the house. Some other units use a torch to vaporize.

What is cannabis?
Cannabis (marijuana) is flowering plant, originally found in asia, africa and central america. The two main varieties are Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica.
Cannabis has been used by many cultures and dates back thousands of years.
What are the active compounds in cannabis and how does it affect the way I feel?
The active compounds in cannabis are called cannabinoids and terpenes.
Cannabinoids that you may have heard about, THC and CBD.
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the cannabinoid that makes you feel “high”,or a sense of euphoria. CBD for most is more sedative and can have positive results treating inflammation. Sativa strains of cannabis tend to be higher in THC and lower in CBD while Indica strains have higher CBD and lower THC levels. This is a reason for Sativa strains having uplifting euphoric effects and indica strains having a greater ability to treat pain and aid with relaxation and sleep. There are over 60 cannabinoids in cannabis and science is discovering the roles they play in healing the human body. Terpenes are the smell and taste of cannabis.there are close to 200 terpenes in cannabis. Cannabis Vapor contains a high percentage of terpenes.
We are not big fans of smoking cannabis as a method of ingestion due to the fact that a high percentage of available active compounds are lost during the smoking process. Vaporizing on the other hand is much more effective, vapor contains higher amounts of the desired active compounds. Vaporizing also eliminates many of the negative byproducts created with smoking or combusting like tar, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Vapor is also at lower temperatures so there little to no irritation to lungs and throat, vapor also doesn’t linger and stick to fabrics like smoke allowing for more discrete use.
Endocannabinoid System
There are two primary receptors in the body that react to cannabinoids, these are CB1 and CB2 .These receptor are part of the Endocannabinoid System. Think of the Endocannabinoid System as the operating software,it regulates how all the other systems and physiological function in your body, this includes appetite control, pain sensation and mood ! CB1 are found in the Brain,Nervous system ,liver and kidneys while the CB2 receptors in the immune system and stem cells .When you smoke or vaporize cannabis the CB1 receptor are signaled equating in a cerebral euphoric high while eating an infused product signals CB2 receptor and give the user a “body high”, less cerebral and more relaxing. Because of this response from the body we can use cannabis in more specific and focused ways providing more relief and less”high” for the medical patient.
Flower Types
Indica,Sativa and Hybrids
There are three types of cannabis plant that you will become very familiar with. They are Indica,Sativa and and combination of the two called a Hybrid. Indica strains of cannabis have more of a sedative effect on the user making indica strains great for pain, relaxation, and sleep disorders.
Sativa strains provide the user with a euphoric or cerebral high with a more uplifting or energizing feeling making a great choice for daytime use or for those looking for motivation or creative help.Hybrid strains tend to combine the best of both worlds making them a favorite for many. There are hundreds of strains to choose from and it can be overwhelming but knowing the general feel of the experience between the three varieties will give you an idea of what a “double dream” or “LA Confidential” will provide for you.
Vaporizing Vs. Edibles
Vaporizing for many is the fastest way to medicate. The vaporized cannabinoids can enter the the bloodstream within minutes and is easy for the consumer to determine if more is required to provide the necessary relief . The relief or “high” will subside rather quickly requiring those with severe conditions the need tp medicate more often.
Ingesting a marijuana infused product (MIP) can provide a much longer period of relief vs vaporizing but can also take anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours to enter the bloodstream. This occurs due to the fact that when THC is ingested it gets processed through the liver (THC changes to 11-hydroxy-THC) and then crosses the blood brain barrier. The 11-hydroxy-THC also packs a punch, so small amounts may be enough even for those regular to vaporizing or smoking cannabis in larger quantities. Use caution and start with small doses, waiting and then ingesting more if needed. Products such as tincture are delivered sublingually under the tongue and have a much faster reaction time than a digested edible making it easier to dose.
Concentrates
Cannabis can be consumed in dry flower form or in a concentrated form (hash, wax, oil, shatter). When using concentrated products its very important to ingest small amounts, they are very potent and can be overwhelming for first time users.
HASH– Hash is the collection of the resinous glands (trichomes) off of the flower. The potent glands are removed from the fibrous material using a physical process to “beat or shake” the glands from the flower. at this point the resulting product is called kief. There tends to be small amounts of plant material in the kief so a sifting through a fine screen will separate that material out leaving a refined kief called dry sift.. This sifted, refined kief can then be collected and pressed in to sticky bricks, this is what most refer to as hash or hashish.
Water or Bubble hash is produced by using cold water and ice in substitution of the physical process of beating the glands or trichomes from the plant. Ice and water work well due to the fact that trichomes are an oil and doesn’t mix with the water. You may hear this type of hash described as melt or full melt, this refers to how the hash will react to heat. Full melt will vaporize nicely using the appropriate device!
Solvents are also used to extract the trichomes from the plant material, Alcohol, butane and CO2 are common solvents used to produce what is called Shatter, wax, oil and honey oil. The manufacturing of these types of “extracts” requires some science and lab equipment and can be dangerous. We recommend leaving the manufacturing of these products to
professionals. Extracts often have high concentrations of cannabinoids and pack a punch in extremely small doses. Not for beginners but very effective for those with conditions like chronic pain. The use of these products should be taken very seriously. Do not mix or consume alcohol while using concentrates and always be sure keep hydrated.
